We’re just one hour away from the big Huawei event at MWC 2018, where the Chinese company is going to unveil the MediaPad M5 tablets. Just before the launch some new renders of the devices appeared, focusing on the 10 inch version and revealing its Harman Kardon acoustics.
We’ve already seen the MediaPad M5 a bunch of times, but the device gets reconfirmed this way. It seems that it’s going to have a 10.8 inch display in the big version and also a ton of speaker holes for some high end Harman action. We also see a big 13 megapixel back camera and a generous 8 MP front shooter, plus 3 metal pins at the bottom back, probably for attaching accessories.
Built out of metal, the device is said to have a Kirin 960 CPU inside, 32 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM. I expect that the Pro model will have 64 GB of storage, an M Pen stylus and more goodies. A microSD card slot is also here, plus we’re going to get a keyboard accessory and a fingerprint scanner too. Strangely leaks have mentioned Android 7.0 Nougat instead of Oreo on board.
The waistline is 7 mm thick and the MediaPad M5 10 is just 499 gram heavy. A starting price of $490 is expected, while the LTE model will probably add $70 more. The 8 inch version may be cheaper.
