While the interwebs is more fond of speculating on the first Amazon phone, here comes the first major leak of the upcoming new generation of Amazon tablets. The new Kindle Fire models have leaked on the web, through a list of specs and the shots below, that BGR came across.
We’re dealing with a 7 inch Kindle Fire 2013, one that adopts a “hard edged” aggressive styling and less rounded edges. The 7 inch unit will support a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution and rely on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor at 2.3 GHz. The device will have 2 GB of RAM, 16, 32 or 64 GB of storage and WiFi or cellular data versions.
The OS here will be Android 4.2.2 with Amazon’s custom experience on top. The 8.9 inch Amazon Kindle Fire HD will come up next with a 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution, an 8 megapixel camera and similar hardware. The 7 inch is ready to be unveiled in a few weeks and put on sale on the same day, apparently. The 8.9 incher will only be ready in November.
