At the very beginning of this week, NEC announced in Japan its first Gemini Lake tablet called VersaPro VU. This new product arrives with the latest Gemini Lake Celeron N4100 ULV processor and with 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM on board. In terms of storage you can get the 64 or the 128 GB eMMC variant.
Even if the 10.1 display doesn’t bring slim bezels, it offers a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and also touch support. There’s Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, USB-A/C 3.0 ports, a 2 megapixel selfie camera and a 5 megapixel rear camera.
A special slot is included for the tactile pen in the upper right part of the back and the slate offers additional ports on the keyboard dock such as HDMI, USB and Ethernet. NEC VersaPro VU measures 0.4 inches in thickness and weights 1.4 lbs without the keyboard or 2.6 lbs with the keyboard.
There’s no info about the price and the tablet might remain exclusive to Japan unfortunately.
