There’s a lot of talk these days about new tablets, particularly the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 and the iPad Mini 6, but one device that seems to go under the radar is the Microsoft Surface Duo 2. It’s been in development for a while and it comes after a device perceived as a flop. Today we get leaks of it, revealing its camera.

The Surface Duo got a lot of price cuts, reflecting its limited appeal and it’s approaching its end of relevance. Now a YouTube video has appeared online, showing details about the alleged Microsoft Surface Duo 2. The design is similar to the original model, adopting a Nintendo DS-like format, that involves a rather big hinge and two separate screens. The hinge allows 360 degree rotation.

The back side hots a big change: a triple camera. We also get to see a black colored model, with a matte finish. The Power button integrates a fingerprint scanner and the rumors claim that the newcomer has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 inside and will also offer NFC support. I’ll remind you that the OG only had a selfie 10 MP camera, which was underwhelming. A debut for the Surface Duo 2 is expected around September/October.

The new dual screen machine has an USB-C port on the lower right hand side (hopefully this one won’t crack) and we expect it to run Android with a serious Microsoft skin, unless we get a Windows 11 flavored surprise. Microsoft is said to offer a more competitive price than the original’s $1399.
