Microsoft Surface Book 2 is now rumored to be getting a specs bump, at least in its entry level version. The Microsoft laptop with a beautiful hinge that may inspire a foldable or two is said to receive an upgrade.

It’s been available ever since late 2017 and it came in two sizes: 13.5 inches and 15 inches, plus two processor options: Intel Core i5-7300U dual core or Core i7-8650U quad core. Now it seems that the entry level units will get an upgrade. WinFuture found that a series of online stores are already listing an unnaounced 13.5 inch Surface Book 2 model, with an Intel Core i5-8350U processor, for the same price as the Core i5 unit.

The rest of the hardware stays the same, including a 13.5 inch 3000 x 2000 pixel screen with touch input. There’s also 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage of the PCIe NVMe SSD variety. Surface Book 2 is still the name, but quietly upgraded. Of course, it could end up being a typo, but in the end the move to an 8th gen CPU sounds like a pretty big deal.

The price is around $1499 and availability is listed as “in the coming weeks”. This was found in Germany on a store that sells electronic products.
