The Indian tablet that leaked a few days, Micromax Canvas Plex has just been released, priced at $203 and offering a 1 year Eros Now premium subscription. It’s obviously only available in India via offline retail stores.

This affordable machine has been co-created with Eros Now and it’ll be available from September 1st at retailers. This is an 8 inch device with a HD resolution and it offers specs like 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage, DTS sound and a 4000 mAh battery. There’s a main camera with LED flash at the back and the CPU and OS aren’t known at the moment.

Previous reports did mention Android Nougat as part of the package. You’re probably wondering what the deal is with Eros Now. They’re offering a variety of full length movies, thematic playlists, multi language subtitles, regional language filters and more. Basically a Netflix and Amazon rival, but localized. I wouldn’t be surprised if this tablet also had 4G connectivity, to take advantage of streaming on the go.

Micromax has over 100 million users, so the potential market to tap is huge. Eros Now has an impressive Bollywood library of films and TV shows, by the way.
