After some weeks of teasing and leaked pictures of the LG Optimus Vu, the 5 incher Galaxy Note rival is now official. The device was launched in South Korea and I’m also expecting an official unveiling next week at MWC 2012.
This square-ish handset features a 5 inch IPS display with a 1024 x 768 pixel resolution and it relies on a Qualcomm dual core 1.5GHz processor, plus an Adreno 220 GPU. There’s also 32GB of memory inside and Android 2.3 Gingerbread is the chosen OS here. Android 4.0 will be offered soon through an update.
LG Optimus Vu also provides LTE, HDMI, DLNA and WiFi Direct connectivity and packs an 8 megapixel camera at the back with autofocus and LED flash. At the front there’s a 1.3MP shooter and moving on to the power source, this gizmo uses a 2.080 mAh battery. The product is supposed to debut in stores in March 2012, at least in South Korea. I expect the 5 inch unit to also arrive in Europe in March or April the latest.
Allow me to be underwhelmed by these specs, that have a long way to go till they’re compared to the ones on Galaxy Note.
