Lenovo has just confirmed to the guys of Slashgear that they’ll be updating the ThinkPad tablet to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich soon enough. The time frame here is Spring 2012, so in the next couple of weeks we should see the update on this sucky tablet. I’m allowed to say this product sucks, after having tested one.
The device will probably get to keep that custom UI and get the performance improvements from ICS. Face unlock will also be there and maybe the battery will be improved. Sill, that won’t make the tablet any less bulky, the physical buttons any less useful and the stylus huge and… useful, unless you’re really into drawing and taking notes. I have to remind you that I tested this tablet and found its screen disappointing, especially the viewing angles, the material quality poor and the design bulky and nasty.
Is a widget and a couple of business/security apps worth the purchase?! Even with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich I wouldn’t touch this tablet from a mile away… Who’s with me?
