Amazon Kindle 2’s price will be dropping from $299 to $259 and we’ve also learned that the E-book reader will be sold as an international version, with built-in AT&T SIM card for $279 starting October 19.

The new version will be made available in 100 countries and you should know that the U.S. Kindle Store now provides over 350,000 books, including new releases and bestsellers. Lonely Planet guides are also included among those, together with 75,000 new books added in the last 5 months.

Kindle 2 is a mere 0.36 inches thin, weighs a bit over 10 ounces and comes with a 6 inch electronic ink display, 2GB of internal memory, a Text-to-Speech feature, syncing technology, wireless connectivity and a QWERTY keyboard.
