There’s a new report out there saying that the next iPad Mini will get a new touch panel supplier and it appears that it’s not Samsung, this time or LG Display. David Hsieh, NPD DisplaySearch Greater China VP has claimed that the next iPad Mini will have touch panels provided by Innolux.

South Korea’s LG Display and Taiwan’s AU Optronics Corp are the biggest iPad Mini panel suppliers, so the switch or addition of a new partner is interesting. Innolux previously claimed this week that it intends to ship its first touch panels for smartphones and tablets using its touch on display technology by the end of the year.

With this touch on display technology available from Innolux, the company may also help with the iPad 5, that’s said to borrow a lot from the iPad Mini. That includes the design format with smaller bezels and thinner design, plus the screen panel that’s fused with the glass.
