Now that the iPhone 4S hype has diminished, maybe we can focus on the next iPad and knowing Apple like I do odds are that the next tablet will be rather an iPad 2 HD than an iPad 3. It seems that the production of the device has already started, according to inside info and analyst studies.
The latest in iPad 3 rumors say that the tablet is in production phase, basing the info on supply chain checks. These point towards an increase in production to 12-14 million units in Q4, that’s certainly more than the 11-13 million units that Apple ordered. Of course, they could be preparing for the holiday season when sales will increase…
The exact numbers are somewhere between 600k and 1 million iPad 3s being produced just in time to arrive in early 2012, together with the March timeframe launch. This idea that Apple is already making new iPads doesn’t seem that good because the component prices might drop by then, so it would be a good idea to start production a month or two before the new iPad debut and not right now… Anyway, they’ll never be selling iPads at a loss, that’s for sure.
