If you’ve got short fingers, this is good news for you: the iPad will get a split keyboard, ideal for thumb typing. Implemented through iOS 5 (previewed yesterday during WWDC 2011), the input system is also known as “Grab Handles”.
This is of great use to the people who need to type using their thumbs when holding their Apple tablet with two hands. If you’ve even held an iPad with two hands, you know how hard it is to reach with your thumbs the middle of the keyboard. With the Grab handles you’ll now have an easier time with using the iPad when standing or sitting somewhere.
Similar keyboards existed on ultramobile PCs years ago and Windows 8 also seems to have such an input method available.
