Samsung announced today an entire series of devices centered around the Microsoft Windows/Windows Phone experience. I’m talking about the Ativ series, that includes the devices ATIV Smart Pc, ATIV Smart PC Pro, Ativ Tab (all of them Windows 8 tablets) and Ativ S, the first Windows Phone 8 handset. In this piece we handle the Ativ Tab.

Ativ stands for “Vita” spelled in reverse, meaning life in Latin. Samsung wants to make their customers’ lives more exciting through this product line, that involves new software platforms. Samsung Ativ Tab is a Windows RT tablet with optimization for the PC experience and extra mobility. The Ativ Tab has a hairline finish, weighs 570 grams and packs in a 10.1 inch display. Inside there’s an 8200 mAh battery, good enough for working on many projects for work/school. The tablet features a 1.5 GHz dual core processor, supports a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution and has a 5 megapixel camera at the rear, plus a 1.9 megapixel front cam. It also comes with Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0 Host, 32/64GB of storage and 2 GB of RAM.
