Huawei’s upcoming event has been moved a bunch of times and we’re not even sure if it’s happening this Spring or maybe in the summer. What’s for certain is that we’re long overdue a new tablet and a Huawei MatePad 2 Pro has leaked before. Today we learn even more about the tablet.
According to source @DigitalChatStation, the Huawei MatePad Pro 2 appeared on TENAA, having been certified by the authority. This high end tablet may end up being showcased on April 27th, but it could also be further delayed. The latest reports mention that the device comes with HarmonyOS on board, making this the first Huawei tablet with this OS. It also uses the Huawei flagship CPU Kirin 9000, according to leaks and adopts a 12.2 or 12.6 inch large screen. The device supports 5G connectivity and that’s pretty much where the specs list ends.
We can also deduce it will come with quad speakers, a 120 Hz refresh rate (or 90 Hz) and a slim metal and glass body. 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM should be included, plus at least 128 GB of storage. A dual back camera with a mechanism similar to LiDAR isn’t out of the picture. We’re not sure if Huawei has enough CPUs to stay afloat during this period, especially since the Kirin 9000 has been used on the Huawei Mate 40 Pro and could also make it on the Huawei P50 series. Back to the screen for a bit we can’t tell if the newcomer has an LCD or AMOLED panel, but the latter sounds more likely, since it delivers improved colors and brightness.
