Huawei held an event in China yesterday, where it unveiled a bunch of new devices, including a tablet dubbed MatePad Air. The selling point of the product is definitely the IPS display with 2.8K resolution and variable refresh rate.

Huawei MatePad Air features an 11.5 inch display with a 2880 x 1840 pixel resolution and 270 ppi density. The screen to body ratio is also pretty solid, at 87%. The display refresh rate varies between 30 Hz and 144 Hz. This device opts for a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, which is pretty old, but can hold its own in gaming.

There’s also 12 GB of RAM available and 512 GB of storage. There will also be a version of the tablet with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Inside the Huawei MatePad Air we find an 8300 mAh battery and 40W wired charging. MatePad Air uses a 4G modem, an 8 MP front camera and also a 13 MP back cam. For entertainment we have 4 speakers and 4 microphones.

Huawei will be selling an accompanying stylus and keyboard, which will be available separately. The price starts at $412 for the 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage version.
