Although we were hoping to find out more info about the HP Slate, we’ve got another device under the same branding that was just announced the other day. We’re talking about the HP EliteBook 2740p, a business convertible tablet, complete with a touch display, a pen digitizer and a capacitive multitouch digitizer (not available on the basic model).

The convertible tablet comes with Windows 7 Professional preinstalled, plus support for Windows XP Tablet Edition and Vista Business. Its display is a 12.1 inch LED WXGA with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, available in more versions, like the less reflective one, with higher contrast, for outdoor use.

There’s also a 6 cell Lithium Ion battery on board, providing up to 5 hours of use, but you can also get the device with a better battery, providing up to 11 hours of use. Processing is provided by multiple Intel Core i5 and i7 CPU options, depending on the version of the tablet you purchase. EliteBook 2740p will debut in April, with a starting price of $1,599.
