Honor held a pretty big event in China yesterday, where it unveiled the high midrange phone Honor X40 5G, but there was also a tablet there. It’s dubbed Honor Pad X8 and it comes with a 10.1 inch screen, a MediaTek processor and a price below $200.

The device comes with a 10.1 inch IPS LCD panel, with a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution and 16:10 aspect. There’s a 224 PPI pixel density here and an 80.6% screen to body ratio. The display panel offers multi touch functionality, capable of up to 10 touches at once. The product measures 240.2 x 159 x 7.55 mm and weighs 460 grams. Inside there’s an octa core MediaTek Helio G80 processor, plus up to 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.

We also get a microSD card slot for memory expansion. The tablet runs on Android 10, which feels very dated by now and I sure hope it’s a type-o. It has Magic UI 4.0 on top and also uses a 5100 mAh battery that needs about 3 hours to charge. Everything is crammed within an aluminum body and we even get two large amplitude speakers with a 2.2cc large sound cavity and support for Honor Histen sound effects. As far as connectivity is concerned, the tablet has Bluetooth 5.1, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and doesn’t support a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Honor Pad X8 is available in Dawn Blue and Mint Green and it’s priced at $171 for the 4 GB RAM, 128 GB storage version and $185 for the 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage version. It’ll be up for purchase in China on September 22nd.
