The latest rumors speak a lot about a Maxi iPad and a 12.2 inch Galaxy Note from Samsung, but other companies are already rushing into the big diagonal segment with Hannspree being the latest of them. They unveiled a massive 13.3 inch slate shown below.

The new model is dubbed Hannspad SN14t71 and it comes with an LED backlit panel with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. Other specs include a 1.6 GHz quad core ARM processor, 1 GB of RAM and Android Jelly Bean. There’s also 16 GB of storage on board, a microSD card slot, WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0. Hannspree also provides a mini HDMI output so you can connect the slate to a TV set.

The device also gets USB On the go support, so you can plug a USB keyboard and mouse and operate them on the tablet. There are also cameras here, a 2 MP unit on the rear and a 0.3 MP unit on the front. In case you’re wondering about the cost, this model is priced at 199 quid, about half the price of an iPad.

I’ve seen where Samsung is coming out with a 13.3 tablet, but this one with a resolution of only 1280 x 800 is a deal breaker. I think everything needs to be retinal quality or better.

Everything I see says this is Bluetooth 3.0 – is it 4 or 3? Big difference.
