Have you ever heard about the GooPad? It may sound… gooey, but it’s actually an iPad Mini copycat with an 8 inch display and lower end specs. The slate comes from China and it gets detailed and specced in the following lines. We’re dealing with a device that has a pretty low resolution, of 800 x 600 pixels, plus a 1 GHz Allwinner A13 CPU.

There’s also 1 GB of RAM on board, 4 GB of storage, a 2 MP rear camera and a 0.3 MP front camera, as well as WiFi. There’s also Android 4.1 on board and get this, an iOS theme applied on top of it. Ironic, right? The tablet uses a slim aluminum body and this GooPad Mini S is actually not the same thing as the Goopad Mini, that was detailed a while ago. It’s important to mention that there’s also a 5000 mah battery on board, that I doubt it can reach the 12 hours of the iPad Mini.

The pricing of the model is listed as $99 and the product hasn’t yet arrived on the market, in case you’re wondering. The GooPad Mini on the other hand is $149, an amount that can actually get you a big brand Android tablet nowadays, so the appeal is not that big.
