Looks like it doesn’t take a Las Vegas event to help a device debut these days… This happened to the Gigabyte S1080 tablet, that was just unveiled in Taiwan during an event held locally by Intel. The device is pictured below and its specs include an Intel dual core Atom CPU among others…

What’s appealing about this new slate is that you can navigate by touching the right and left side of the display frame with thumbs, as you hold the device. Bad news is that you won’t get a HDMI port on this unit, but its price should keep you content: under $300. Here’s the specs list:

  • Display: 10 inch, 1024 x 600 pixels
  • Memory: DDR3 RAM, 2.5 inch HDD
  • Connectivity: USB 3.0, VGA port
  • OS: Windows 7
  • CPU: Intel dual core Atom N550

Launch is scheduled for February, at least in Taiwan…
