Remember failed startup OpenMoko? Now, it turns out that Sean Moss-Pultz, the former CEO of this failed company launched WikiReader, a portable encyclopedia powered by AAA batteries. What’s the product all about? Here’s a short description from its maker: “three simple buttons put 3 million Wikipedia articles in the palm of your hand”.

The device comes without any sort of connectivity and it packs a scratch resistant tempered glass capacitive touchscreen, 3 buttons and a built in, upgradable and removable microSD card slot. Two AAA batteries will provide the offline gadget with 1 year of functioning, dosed in 15 minutes per day, so that’s a total of 90 hours of use.

Its price is $99 and you should know that WikiReader’s design belongs to Thomas Meyerhoffer.
