Explay Surfer 8.02 is an 8 inch Android 4.1 Jelly Bean slate with a dual core processor and packing a VGA camera. It looks a bit like a tablet that we’re testing right now, a Romanian model called Allview TX1 Quasar, although that model has a 3G module and this one doesn’t.

The Explay Surfer 8.02 has a thin metal body, a 8 inch IPS display and a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. It also has a 16 GB internal memory and it packs a WiFi module and support for 3G modems. There’s also a microSD card slot on board and 1 GB of RAM. The manufacturer claims that the device can run up to 8 hours without recharging. The recommended price for the product is around $231 and the design isn’t that bad.

As far as dimensions go, the device measures 8 mm in thickness and weighs 415 grams. The product is only available in Russia for now, but I’m sure it will expand to other countries, maybe under a different name. I can’t say I’m impressed by the price, since you can get a Nexus 7 for less than $200.
