ELKO just debuted a new tablet, dubbed the Getac ZX70, which is a rugged model with a 7 inch screen. We learn from here that the device comes with Android on board and it’s resilient to shocks and meant for working in extreme conditions.
The device is IP67 certified for dust and water resilience, plus it’s also certified for the MIL-STD 810G. It works underwater without a problem and uses an IPS LCD display with 580 nits of brightness. This slate is ideal for telecom and transportation workers and it runs on Android 6.0. Getac ZX70 packs a Full HD webcam upfront and an 8 megapixel main camera, with LED flash and autofocus.
It also sports 2 GB of RAM, with the possibility to go up to 4 GB and there’s a GPS module on board, 4G LTE and WiFi, as well as a barcode reader (1D/2D). The list goes on with a NFC/RFID module and an SD card reader too. The tablet is so rugged, that it’s been ATEX certified, which means it can be used in explosive environments. Its display offers stylus input support and comes with a tech that lets you reach superior contrast and wide color gamut.
Temperatures are also no problem, as the Getac ZX70 works between minus 21 degrees Celsius and plus 60 with ease.
