It’s not every day you get to see a tablet that’s both rugged, military specced and secure software-wise, but that’s exactly the case of the DT Research models. The company unveiled two ultra rugged water resistant Windows 10 2 in 1 tablets.
The two models are known as D301S and DT311H, with the first being a 10.1 inch model with an Intel 6th gen Core i5 or Core i7 CPU, as well as 4 or 8 GB of RAM. DT311H has an 11.6 inch touchscreen and an Intel 5th Core i5 or i7 CPU, plus 8 or 16 GB of RAM. Both tablets feature a built in smart card/CAC reader, plus WiFi and Bluetooth and other extras, that are optional.
I’m talking about a barcode scanner, RFID reader, 4G connectivity and optional camera. Since these are rugged models, they’re resilient to rough weather and can operate at temperatures between -4 F to 140 F. Users have hot swap batteries available here, advanced hardware and software security and water resilient keyboards.
Windows 10 IoT Enterprise OS security features are included and the tablets can run trusted applications with TPM 1.2 and 2.0 support. Both products will be available this month via DT Research and via partners.
