After so many Android 4.0 tablets in the $100 – $200 price range, we finally found an interesting model that’s a bit pricier and also better specced. I’m talking about the Cube U30GT, one of the first tablets to use the Rockchip new chipset, the dual core 1.5 GHz RK3066 processor.

This has got to be the best CPU coming from Rockchip over the past months. The Cube U30GT tablet has a starting price of $270 and it comes with a 10.1 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel IPS display and a capacitive touch panel. There’s also a 1.5 GHz processor on board, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and a front and rear camera. Android 4.0 is also on board and the device comes with WiFi, Bluetooth and HDMI output. The product can be ordered from AliExpress for $269.99 and it ships from overseas.

This means that the slate will set you back more, because of shipping charges (price may reach $324). Anyway, know that the price goes much lower if you order 4 or more units, so buying in bulk and rebranding the slate may become a business for some East European companies.

I have one, it is a great tablet but it really does require an immediate ROM upgrade which I have done. Like most Chinese tablets, the supplied Android ROM OS is not up to par, change it and you will be really pleased with the cube u30gt (it really is not difficult to do).
