CES 2013 is only one day away and companies such as Coby Electronics are pushing forward their upcoming products. Coby announced the MID 7065, an affordable 7 inch slate, priced at merely $149. This undercuts even cheap hot selling products like the Google Nexus 7 and the Amazon Kindle Fire HD.
Previous Coby slates had a catch: you had to use third party app stores to get apps for the devices. Well, in the case of the MID 7065, you finally get full access to the Google Play Store. The tablet also offers access to other services like Maps, Gmail, Chrome and YouTube.
As far as hardware specs go, Coby MID 7065 features a 1.2 GHz dual core processor, 1 GB of RAM, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 and a front facing 0.3 megapixel camera. Other features include 8 GB of flash storage, a microSD card slot with support for up to 32 GB and Android 4.0 ICS. This means that the slate lacks Google Now, offline voice typing and other benefits, like the one of Project Butter from Jelly Bean. The screen resolution is also unknown, but don’t expect anything big.
