Chuwi has started teasing a new product, dubbed LapBook Air, which is basically a premium design laptop. They claim that folks could easily mistake it for a MacBook, with the Chuwi logo hidden. Just how premium this device is we learn below.

The device brings a backlit keyboard and the LapBook Air is crazy thin at 6 mm in waistline. It’s got a 14.1 inch screen and a full metal body, weighing a total of 1.3 kilograms. It all feels sleek and comfy, plus it has a matte case. The maker of the laptop claims that its feel is similar to the one of a MacBook or Surface Laptop. A larger screen to body ratio is available here, thanks to the close to zero bezel design.

Full lamination makes the whole piece of glass bezel-less and we’ve got an LCD panel in the mix. We don’t have specs for this model just yet, but I imagine it delivers a Full HD resolution, at least 4 GB of RAM, maybe 6 GB, 64 or 128 GB of storage and at least a HD webcam. It seems to have two full USB ports on the side and I can also envision maybe a Core M processor inside, but that’s only my speculation.

We’ll learn more when it launches over the next weeks.
