Chuwi is at it again, unveiling a new tablet today meant for people who like more compact tablets. It’s the Chuwi Hi8 Air and it comes with an 8 inch screen, plus pretty good midrange specs, especially the CPU. Let’s check them out.
Firs of all, The Hi8 is a dual boot tablet, running on both Windows 10 and Android 5.1. Chuwi claims that the Hi8 Air is supposed to be an upgraded version of the Chuwi Hi8 Pro. It brings an 8 inch screen with a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio. Inside the device there’s an Intel Cherry Trail Z8350 X5 processor, clocked at 1.44 GHz.
With the Turbo frequency it reaches 1.92 GHz and the device should come with a metal chassis, with all metal around the frame. The panel mentioned above is an OGS fully laminated LCD. Other specs include 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage (eMMC) and a microSD card slot. The battery is a 4000 mAh unit and there’s also Bluetooth 4.0 support in the mix, a microUSB port and one micro HDMI with 1080p output.
Accessories are generous too, with an OTG cable and Bluetooth keyboard bundled. Chuwi didn’t mention a price, they just promise a decent one, since the product is meant for students. More details will be available here.
