The ads and billboards from a few hours ago were right and Samsung announced today the Galaxy TabPRO 10.1 tablet, as expected. This comes ahead of the proper conference at CES, that takes place tomorrow and you should know that the name of the device is said together like this: TabPRO.

Galaxy-TabPRO-1

It all became official on the Samsung press website, but the same page went offline as soon as the announcement was made, probably getting back up in a few hours. Every speculation about the specs was the real deal, as the Galaxy TabPRO 10.1 is a 10.1 inch Super Clear LCD device with a 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution and an Exynos Octa 1.9 GHz processor inside.

There’s also the option of a 2.3 GHz quad core Snapdragon 800 CPU. It all depends if you choose the WiFi or LTE model. Other specs include 2 GB of RAM, Android 4.4 KitKat by default and a brand new homescreen/lockscreen/widgets combo, as shown in the image. There’s an 8 megapixel rear camera, a 2 MP front shooter, a microSD card slot, 16/32 GB of storage and a 8220 mAh battery. GPS and WiFi are here and so is infrared connectivity.  We’ll have to wait for more intel in a few hours, probably pricing too.
