The ASUS VivoBook S15 is a laptop that was introduced in May last year and it’s priced at $699 and up. Now it has finally become available on the likes of Amazon and it’s a good deal because it combines a large 15.6 inch diagonal with a compact body. A $799 model bumps the CPU to Core i7.

Unveiled in May, the product is 0.7 inches in waistline and weighs 3.7 pounds. The screen bezels are merely a third of an inch thick and this makes the product feel more like a 14 incher rather than a 15.6 inch notebook. The $699 config involves an Intel Core i5-7200U chipset, plus 8 GB of RAM and 1 TB of HDD storage. There’s also a Core i7 version, with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of SSD storage, as well as 1 TB of extra storage.

Other pluses include a 178 degree view angle, Full HD resolution and the ASUS website says that in the future you’ll also be able to get this device with up to 16 GB of RAM, up to 512 GB of SSD storage and 2 TB of HDD. A more affordable Core i3 model will appear, perhaps with a 768p screen. By the way, connectivity is also modern, thanks to USB Type-C ports, USB 3.0, USB 2.0 and HDMI.

Dual band WiFi is in the mix as well. To me the ASUS VivoBoook S15 with Core i7 at $799 sounds like an excellent deal, especially since it also brings a fingerprint scanner and Windows 10.
