And here we are with a solid price tag for a Windows RT tablet. I’m talking about the ASUS Vivo Tab RT version, that’s been listed for sale on Newegg, in the 32 GB version, with a $599 price tag. This model offers 2 GB of RAM and a 10.1 inch display with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution.

There’s also a microSD card slot on board, HDMI connectivity and a quad core Tegra 3 processor, although for some reason the listing mentions a single core CPU as well. It’s either a mistake or they did some reading on Tegra 3 and found out it has a fifth core that does the mundane tasks of the device. At $599 this is certainly no budget tablet an if the Surface RT slate is $100 cheaper, this product has a small chance of making it big. For $599 you can get a 32 GB iPad, in case you’re wondering. It’s true, you don’t get microSD or HDMI on that one, but you do get 200k apps.

Asus Vivo Tab RT was formerly known as the ASUS Tablet 600 and it’s also listed at retailers like Staples, TigerDirect and FutureShop, with the same price. If you add the keyboard dock in the mix you’ll pay an extra $200, so the price tag is $799.99, huge for such a model. Newegg says that the product will be released on October 26th, while Futureshop has it starting November 2nd. Frankly speaking, the $599.99 Transformer Pad Infinity sounds better… especially with a Full HD screen.
