ASUS introduced just hours ago in Taiwan a brand new version of the PadFone, with a Snapdragon 600 CPU inside. The new model is known as the ASUS PadFone Infinity Lite and we expect to see it at MWC 2014, for some hands on time.
This device comes after unveiling the PadFone Mini and PadFone E, so we’ve got an entire series of PadFones now. The newcomer is not very different from the PadFone Infinity 2, that was announced last year. The main difference is that it features a 1.7 GHz Snapdragon 600 CPU, instead of the Snapdragon 800 2.2 GHz unit from last year.
The Infinity Lite runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for now, which is strange, since this version is basically antique by now. We’ve heard speculations about this device over the past days and now it has become real. Its smartphone part has a 5 inch Full HD screen, a 13 MP camera and 2 GB of RAM, plus a 2400 mAh battery.
The tablet dock has a 10.1 inch Full HD screen and offers an extra 5000 mAh battery. The price tag of this model is $463 and it’s coming to the market in March. Keep in mind that the price mentioned before brings you the smartphone, not the tablet dock. That one is an extra $230.
