ASUS is getting ready to finally launch that PadFone tablet/phone combo, that’s already available for pre-order in Taiwan, starting tomorrow. Also, know that the device will debut in mid-April and the phone by itself will cost $610, while the whole tablet set, including the Bluetooth stylus/headset will costs $850.

Add to that the keyboard accessory and you’ve got a total of $980. ASUS also promises to offer the people who preorder the hybrid already an extra battery, so imagine how much juice you’re going to get out of the phone + tablet + keyboard + extra battery combo. You might even reach 24 hours with these babies… We’ve seen and touched the ASUS PadFone at MWC 2012 and can easily say that it was the most revolutionary product in Barcelona. Integration of the phone with PadStation was very smooth, especially when you started playing a video on the phone and continued the playback on the tablet without any lag.

The handset is a dual core Snapdragon S4 1.5 GHz affair, so that’s pure performance, especially since the latest benchmarks showed that this CPU is actually better than the Tegra 3. So, this is an evolution all around and I really can’t wait to see how the handset behaves in comparison to the HTC One X for example.
