ASUS has debuted the FonePad 8 FE380CG 3G tablet in India, with a reasonable price of $226, that sounds pretty appealing, if you ask me. The product is now available on Flipkart and in the ASUS experience stores in black and gold.
The slate offers the latest generation of Zen UI applied on top of Android and specs of the device include an 8 inch 1280 x 800 pixel IPS display, as well as an Intel quad core 1.3 GHz processor. This one is an Intel Atom Z3560 CPU, accompanied by 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, a microSD card slot and 3G connectivity. This KitKat-based tablet has dual SIM slots and packs a 4000 mAh battery.
It packs a 5 MP rear camera and a front 2 MP shooter. It competes in a pretty wide segment, of sub $300 3G tablets in India, with a not so impressive array of rivals, so it has a chance to become a hit. I should mention that this model has phone functionality and works in tandem with the ASUS View Folio Cover, if purchased.
