The usual source of rumors, good old Eldar Murtazin has the scoop on the future of tablets: quad core computing. It seems that this year we’ll see a single tablet with such a CPU: ASUS Eee Pad Transformer 2, that was supposed to come this month and got delayed by some Nvidia Tegra 3 problems.
The same Eldar seems sure that in 2012 it will be all about quad core and at the end of next year we’ll also see some quad core smartphones. I guess that among the companies to debut quad core models of tablet we’ll find the usual pioneers: LG, Motorola and Samsung, while HTC should also get in the game later on.
This will certainly trigger a huge price decrease for the dual core tablets next year and some of them are priced very low right now. As far as the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer 2 is concerned, it always pays off to be the first with a product on an empty market right? Of course, pioneers are prone to face mistakes and errors, but at least they’re first. Also, considering the quality of the first Transformer, the second should be a must have device!
