Just when you thought that Apple and Samsung would make peace, according to their own CEOs, here goes the Cupertino side again attacking Sammy. This time it’s once again the fault of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 slate, that’s supposed to be banned in USA, if things happen the Apple way.
This week Samsung has to defend its product in court and that happens just days before the big meeting between the companies to make pace. This new move is actually a motion filed by Apple, after a partially won appeal on US Patent No. D504,889, that confirms the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is infringing on the iPad’s copyrights. Right now Apple won the preliminary injunction motion and we’re headed towards a ban of the product, most likely temporarily. This also happened in Australia last year and the tablet almost didn’t make to the shelves of the local stores, but the ban was finally lifted.
Samsung also created the Galaxy Tab 10.1N to avoid infringing any patents in the future, but they’re still selling the cause of all problems: the Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet. This means that if you’re looking for this product in stores in the USA in the near future, you could be out of luck, since the slate could be banned. Even if it’s a temporary ban, since enough time will pass to make the Galaxy Tab 10.1 obsolete, it won’t matter if it was temporary or not…
