Although you see a lot of Samsung, Nokia, HTC and the iPhone in the daily news, know that the iPad is still popular and it doesn’t even need the iPad Mini to be that way. According to Needham & Company analyst Charlie Wolf the tablet is now more popular than ever.
Wolf makes a projection, saying that 20 million iPads were sold in second quarter of 2012, quite a jump from the previous projection of 13.5 million. That’s more than the 15 million units sold during the 2011 holiday quarter, which is certainly impressive. The same analyst is even more optimistic about the potential future sales, saying that he sees the tablet as being adopted much rapidly by businesses for example than the iPhone was after its debut.
He also says that it’s a matter of time till the iPad surpasses the iPhone in shipments. The iPad is conquering the business market at a bigger pace than the iPhone apparently and to top that it will launch in China on July 20th, creating a huge potential for growth on the Asian market. Is there any room for Android slates to snatch some percentages?
