After a long series of rumors regarding the iPad Air 3, today we learn that we may in fact end up with a 9.7 inch iPad Pro, not the Air 3. The trend follows the one of the MacBook Pro, coming in 13 inch and 15 inch sizes.
The OG iPad Pro was a 12.9 incher that sold quite well. Well, the 9.7 inch version of that model is said to debut on Tuesday, March 15th, during an event that will also bring us the iPhone 5se. The shipping date is rumored to be March 18th for the new slate. The smaller iPad Pro will keep the bulk of the features of the bigger unit, including the Apple A9X processor, and 4 GB of RAM, plus large screen res.
A Smart Connector will also be included, as well as support for the Apple Pencil. Quad stereo speakers will be on the specs list and the color choice and storage versions will be kept too. The new iPad Pro will simplify the iPad lineup and Apple is said to be slowing down production of older iPad Air and iPad mini models.
How ridiculous would an iPad Pro Mini be in the future?
