There’s a fresh tablet in town with an atypical platform, Chrome OS. The device is dubbed Chrome Base Commercial and it was introduced by AOPEN, packing a 21.5 inch screen and the previously mentioned OS.
The product has been recently certified by the FCC and now it has appeared on the AOPEN site. This slate supports a Full HD resolution and includes among the specs a quad core Intel Celeron N2930 Bay Trail chipset, clocked at 1.83 GHz and benefiting from Turbo Boost technology, that takes it up to 2.16 GHz. There’s 4 GB of RAM included here, 32 GB of storage, a microSD card slot and a HD webcam upfront.
This model doesn’t have a rear camera and it comes with dual band WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, as well as a very impressive array of 6 USB 2.0 ports. Ethernet jack, mic in and out, HDMI and Kensington lock are here too. All of that is contained within a 33.6 mm thick case and it weighs 6.5 kilos. The product is only available in gray. No info on the price yet.
