In case you didn’t know, you can access Android Market on the Kindle Fire, but there’s a little catch to that: you have to enter market.android.com in the web browser on the tablet. Till now doing so resulted in the use being redirected to Amazon’s Appstore.

This means that the users were blocked from accessing a website that’s actually necessary, famous and useful… Luckily, current Amazon Kindle Fire users will be able to access the web version of Android Market, a function triggered by the recent software update, that also broke the root of the $200 tablet. Kindle fire won’t be able to install apps from the Android Market, which is sad, but at least they can browse music, movies and books…

I’ll stick to the rooting and custom ROMs, thanks, although I have a feeling that at some point, if the Amazon App Store fails to get traction, the retailer will be forced to go with Android Market.
