While Android 3.0 Honeycomb has been showcased and detailed this week, the follow-up to Gingerbread remains a mystery. We’re talking about Android 2.4 Android Ice Cream Sandwich, that was recently rumor to bring the Honeycomb features on handsets.

There was a rumor at some point saying that Xperia Arc will be the first handset to launch with Android 2.4 on board, but that was blamed on an error in the end. Google is already working on Ice Cream, according to speculations and the build version is supposed to be GRl17. We have no idea what exactly the new OS will borrow from Android 3.0, but we hope it’ll be the interface and its intuitive system.

Ice Cream is supposed to be unveiled in Q3 2011, so there’s a long way till then.
