One of the priciest e-readers on the market, Amazon Kindle Voyage has debuted in China, with a price tag of $323. This model is only available now and it ships to buyers on January 10th next year. The product comes with an Amazon 9W power adapter, USB cable and 100 Chinese yuan ebook coupons.
There’s also a folding leather protective cover bundled in the mix. This model has a 6 inch display, built in reading light and it relies on a flat panel technology. The touch response is improved compared to the predecessors and the newcomer is now lighter at 180 grams. It measures 7.6 mm in thickness and integrates a light sensor, with auto backlight setup role.
Inside, the Voyage has a 1320 mAh Li-Ion battery, a 3.8V unit, that should offer you many days of reading time. Amazon promises 6 weeks of continuous functioning if you read about half an hour a day, with WiFi off. The brain of the device is a 1 GHz ARM Cortex A9 single core chipset and flash storage is 4 GB. The selling point here is the 6 inch 300 ppi E Ink display, with great brightness and crispness.
