Sources from the supply chain are hinting again about that bigger Amazon Kindle Fire. Now they say that the older one will get a price cut of $50, in order to make room for the new product. The 7 inch tablet will thus cost $149, while the newcomer is touted as a 1280 x 800 pixel tablet.
The Kindle Fire supports a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution and the Fire 2 is rumored to get a $199 price tag. No idea if aside from the resolution we’ll get other upgrades and we don’t even know the diagonal, that could be 10.1 inches or 8.9 inches according to some rumors. The product is expected around the holiday season or in the first quarter of next year, the latest. I wouldn’t be surprised if this ended up being a quad core slate, frankly speaking.
I also expect Amazon to update the OS + UI on the device to a combo between Android 4.0 and their services and app store. I wonder if they’ll implement a camera this time…
