Today is the big day of the Amazon Kindle Fire 2 unveiling and together with it we’ll also get a new e-reader from Amazon. This is probably why last night Amazon started showing a teaser video for the new products during the football or soccer games shown in USA. You can check out the ad below, without revealing too much of the new product.
If you ask me, the only thing I figure out about the Kindle Fire 2 is the presence of a pretty big lower side bezel. Other than that it’s still a 7 inch tablet, judging by the way it’s held and the size it sports in the users’ hands. We don’t get specs, obviously, but the event today will take care of that. Expectations are great here and the price tag of $199 will probably be applied again, this time on an upgraded 7 inch Kindle Fire, possibly with 3G, GPS, back camera and maybe even a quad core CPU?!
It will be interesting to see on top of what OS Amazon emulates its services: either Android 4.0 or 4.1. From what I can see in the video, the display is particularly crisp and it also seems that the idea of a dual screen Kindle Fire is dismissed… for now.
