Acer announced a new tablet this week, the Iconia One 7 B1-780 model, that’s meant for children and it’s priced at 80 GBP in the UK. Of course, as the price shows this is an entry level model, that gets detailed below.

The Kids Center application is at the core of the experience and this is a lightweight product, thanks to its 270 grams. We get a 7 inch IPS display here, with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution and a MediaTek MT8163 processor (quad core), clocked at up to 1.3 GHz. 8 or 16 GB of storage should also be included, plus a microSD card slot with support for up to 128 GB of extra storage.

The camera has been downgraded from the last Iconia One 7, from 5 MP to 2 MP and the front shooter stands at 0.3 MP. Acer also claims that the newcomer brings a battery life of up to 6 hours on a single charge. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but with parental controls, an UI redesigned for the kids and a lot of tools for filtering content.

The product debuts in June in UK.
