Large-screen laptops are often the compromise for people who want more workspace but do not want to carry a bulky machine. Acer’s updated Swift Air 16 takes aim at that gap with a 16-inch, 16:10 display in an aluminum body measuring 13.3mm at its thinnest point and weighing 1.5kg, or about 3.3 pounds. The new model was shown at IFA 2026 with Intel Core Series 3 options and a 70Wh battery.
OLED is the headline configuration
The standout panel is a 16-inch OLED with a 2880 x 1800 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, up to 500 nits of brightness, and full DCI-P3 color coverage. That specification should make the larger canvas more appealing for multitasking as well as color-sensitive media viewing. Acer also plans 1920 x 1200 OLED and touch-enabled IPS alternatives, both with 60Hz refresh rates.
Inside, configurations range from an Intel Core 3 304 to a Core 7 350. Acer says the platform can deliver up to 40 TOPS, with the top processor including a dedicated NPU. Memory reaches 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM, while PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD storage tops out at 512GB. Graphics are integrated Intel graphics, placing the Swift Air 16 squarely in the thin-and-light productivity category rather than the dedicated-GPU performance segment.
Built for mobile work, with the ports to support it
Acer rates the 70Wh battery for fast charging: using the included 100W adapter, it can reach 50% charge in 30 minutes. The laptop includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Wireless connectivity is handled by Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
For video calls and sign-in, the Swift Air 16 has a 1080p IR camera with a physical privacy shutter and Windows Hello support. Four speakers with DTS Virtual:X handle audio. It ships with Windows 11 Home and will be offered in Elemental Blue, Sage Green, and Sandstone Gold.
Acer has not announced U.S. pricing or availability. With its 16-inch OLED option, relatively low weight, and 70Wh battery, the Swift Air 16 appears aimed at mobile workers and students who need more screen space than a typical ultraportable provides, though the 16GB memory and 512GB storage ceilings may be important trade-offs for heavier workloads.
