HONOR has been hard at work for a successor to the lower end Pad X8a tablet, which was launched back in August. Now there’s a HONOR Pad X9a coming, which will be launched in the United Arab Emirates for starters.

It has been certified over there already via the TDRA. The device is also expected to drop on multiple international markets. The Wi-Fi only model is codenamed ELN2-W29. There’s no spec available for this device yet, but we don’t quite expect it to be high end. The predecessor, the HONOR Pad X8a came with an 11 inch 1200 x 1920 LCD display with a 90 Hz refresh rate.

It also had the rather modest Snapdragon 680 processor inside, as well as 4 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of storage. There are also 5 megapixel cameras on board, one upfront and one at the back. An 8300 mAh battery also keeps the lights on.

Audio experiences are enhanced by a quad-speaker system with large-amplitude speakers and HONOR Histen technology, delivering rich sound quality. The tablet’s design is both slim and lightweight, measuring 7.3mm in thickness and weighing 495g, featuring a full metal unibody for a premium feel. Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.1, and a USB Type-C 2.0 port. Notably, the Pad X8a lacks cellular connectivity and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
