Teclast just debuted a brand new budget tablet, a model with Android on board, one dubbed Teclast M40 Plus. It comes with a 10.1 inch screen and a decently powerful MediaTek processor. It runs on Android 12 and offers a 7000 mAh battery.

The tablet comes with a metal body, a 10.1 inch IPS LCD screen with a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution and a 16:10 aspect. There’s a MediaTek MT8183 processor inside, also known as the Kompanio 500 and paired up with 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB of UFS 2.1 storage. We also get a microSD card slot and Android 12 as the OS, with some minor customization. For multimedia there’s a 3.5 mm audio jack here, an USB-C port and dual speakers.

On the connectivity side of things, the tablet proposes dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 and GNSS. It feels like a pretty standard entry level tablet, the kind of which a kid could use for entertainment.

The device is priced at 799 yuan in China, but globally it should be sold for $179.99. It’s up for preorder right now on JD in China and AliExpress internationally.
