Those of us interested in tablets were left a bit sour after Apple’s event this week, since they didn’t even mention the iPad Air 4. We were supposed to get a proper launch date, but thanks to some leaks we’re closer to figuring it out. The iPad Air 4 is supposedly cleared for launch on October 23rd, after being certified by the FCC.

The fourth gen iPad Air was unveiled in September with the Apple Watch Series 6 and an entry level iPad. Apple did promise availability in October, but that didn’t play out yet. There’s a legal FCC filing for the iPad Air 4, approved for sale in USA. Leakster Jon Prosser who predicted correctly recent product launches now claims that the iPad Air 4 becomes available for preorder today, October 16th, ahead of the availability on October 23rd. Best Buy also teased a debut for next Friday in its retail store.

The iPad Air 4 actually inaugurated the powerful Apple A14 processor and shifted to a full screen design. It comes with an USB-C port, a top Power button with Touch ID and a Magic Keyboard accessory. It comes in 5 colors and definitely has its design inspired by the iPad Pro models. It also brings Apple Pencil 2 support and comes with 4 GB of RAM. It also comes with a 10.9 inch screen with a 2360 x 1640 pixel resolution, WiFi 6, a 12 MP main camera and a 7 MP front camera.

The price goes from $599 and up.
