Amazon debuted a new Kids device today, an eReader, plus a new Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet, this time with an USB-C connector. This big slate is faster than the predecessor and also has an improved battery life. Let’s see what it has to offer.
The product is up for preorder at $150 and starts shipping around October 30th. This is the 9th generation of Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet, that comes with an octa core 2 GHz processor. Amazon promises a boost of 30% from the performance of the 2017 predecessor. There’s also the promise of 12 hours of battery life, a 2 hour increase from the previous unit.
The resolution of the 10.1 inch screen is 1920 x 1200 pixels and we also get 2 GB of RAM and 32 or 64 GB of storage. There’s also a microSD card slot and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos used to consume music and movies. 2 MP front and back cameras are here, plus an audio jack. The product comes with 1 year of warranty and WiFi ac, plus Amazon Alexa.
There’s quite a few colors for the product: black, white, blue and plum, to name a few. This version of the device has Fire OS on board, based on Android Pie with a new picture in picture mode for video watching. There’s also a new Fire HD 10 Kids Edition tablet, with a 2 year worry free guarantee and a 1 year subscription of Amazon Freetime Unlimited.
